Owning your online space + Why I recommend Shopify

Owning your online space + Why I recommend Shopify

Having a website in the year 2020 is more important than ever, as it provides a legitimate space for your online business and builds trust for customers searching for you online.  There are many opportunities to sell your products and services online through other platforms and channels such as Etsy, Ebay, Instagram, and Facebook - but with the caveat that you don’t own that space.  It’s important to make sure you do have ownership of your online business and not be at the mercy of these other companies if they decided to change their policies. Shopify makes it easy to integrate into these other channels, to sell your products seamlessly, and organize all into one main platform.

What is Shopify?

Shopify is a complete ecommerce solution that allows you to use one platform for all your business needs, whether you are strictly online, a brick and mortar, or a mix of both with popup shops. Shopify is also a solution that allows you to integrate your products into multiple selling channels (like the ones mentioned above), all while funneling it into your main platform.   It’s an easy to use solution that eliminates the bulky software and hosting that many ecommerce solutions require. So no more headaches and updates and features are seamlessly handled for you behind the scenes with amazing 24/7 customer support.

Are there other options out there?

I have been in the ecommerce field for over 15 years and have worked with many different solutions out there.  Everything from free solutions all the way to solutions that require $2000 license fees. There are also many other types of solutions that have ecommerce add ons, such as Woocommerce and Squarespace, but if you are looking to build your ecommerce business, you should be on a platform that is made specifically for ecommerce, and not just a second thought add on. That is why Shopify wins with me, every time.

I'm suggesting you make the switch if...

Honestly, I have converted all of my past customers to Shopify, no matter what they were on previously. I have to say that each and everyone has been delighted by the switch, as there are no longer any big bulky updates, expensive upgrades or multiple server or software headaches. It's an easy solution for everyone at any level of expertise.

I also suggest businesses that rely on other platforms such as Ebay and Etsy for their sole income, to also have a website as well. When these platforms decide to change their rules, you could end up being at their mercy and it could affect your bottom line. I have seen it before, where an account was shut down on Etsy because they felt their requirements were not being met.

It’s important to have control of your business and your sales.

For those clients that have issues with technology, Shopify is one of the easiest to use ecommerce platforms out there. We also make sure everyone has the proper training and videos for reference when they get stuck.

So, what does a platform switch look like?

A platform switch can seem like something scary, but if it's done correctly in the hands of a company like COR Marketing, then the experience can be seamless and pain-free.  We have migrated clients from Etsy, 3d Cart, Bicommerce, Woocommerce, Aspdotnetstorefront, and Magento to name a few.

Our proprietary migration tools ensure that everything is moved over properly, including all content and blog posts, in addition to creating page redirects to preserve search engine rankings.

Yes, we can help!

If you are wondering how COR Marketing can help you, we can essentially handle the whole process for you.  All we need is the proper admin credentials and we can copy your site from one platform and move it over to Shopify, seamlessly, all while preserving your current site live while building a new version on Shopify.  This is important as for most small businesses cannot afford to have their site down for weeks while a new site is being built. In addition, we even run a final migration before launch to make sure we gather any orders, customer information, or blog content that was added during the build.

If you have been on the fence about whether you should make the switch, contact us for a FREE 20-minute discovery session and we can walk you through our process so we can put your mind at ease.
